Welcome to LAKE POWELL CONCERT ASSOCIATION, INC.
PAGE, ARIZONA
This Local Concert Association, also known as LPCA, is an all volunteer non-profit corporation providing concerts and culture to the City of Page, Arizona. Page is an isolated community of about 8000 people, surrounded by Navajo Reservation. It is difficult for people of limited means to travel to big cities to experience cultural experiences. So this organization was formed to bring culture to Page.
Concerts are generally held from October through April, as the summer months are busy with many outdoor sports and traveling situations for most families. The summer, from March through November, is a time when the city and its surrounding teritory has over 3 million tourists traveling through and enjoying Lake Powell, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and so forth. Page is the center of the Universe it seems, as all around are National Parks, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion and many local spots to enjoy and explore.
This local Concert Association brings culture to the school children by providing "residencies" also known as educational opportunities for the school children to experience the many forms of culture including music, dance and song by working closely with the artists.
Each year we try to provide a variety of unique genres and also try not to duplicate performances too often, although some are very popular. LPCA is funded by local sponsorships and by some of the larger businesses, as well as ticket sales at the Box Office. LPCA partners with the City of Page, Coconino Community College, Page Unified School District # 8, and the Navajo Generating Station to provide events for the city.
